TriForcer Spotlight: Nada's Protein Bites
...And we’re back!
We’re starting 2016 off with some exciting things in the works- one of them being TriForcer Spotlights. Today, lights are shining on Nada Maatouk. She’s a physiotherapist assistant student, kung fu teacher, kick boxing coach, TriForcer AND a great chef. Here, she shares her signature recipe: Protein Bites!
Not only are these super simple-and incredibly quick- to make, they’re healthy too! With these on-the-go-ready treats, we get a delicious source of protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Yield= 24 bites
Prep Time= 10min | Cook Time= 5min| Total time= 15min
1.5 cups oats
½ cup honey or agave syrup*
½ cup cocoa powder
1 cup natural peanut butter*
¼-1/2 cup unsweetened coconut
4 tbsp chia seeds
*Add more if your mixture isn’t sticking together.
Here’s what you do:
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl (get your hands in there, just like Brooke and Nada!).
Roll into 1’’ balls and place on a non-stick cookie sheet or on a sheet covered with tinfoil.
Cook for 5 minutes. Allow to cool on the sheet.
DIG IN!
Et voila-15 minutes to a delicious protein snack that will surely be a household favourite! In fact, our Wednesday Total Body Sculpt class sampled Nada’s creations this past week. We knew they were a crowd pleaser when a couple of TriForcers asked if they could snag a few more for later!
Thanks Nada! :)
Tune in next time for more nutrition tidbits,
The TriForce Team
